Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) - Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) is a clinically recognized condition that is attributed to an individual suffering from either Traumatic Stress or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), who is also exhibiting a coincident breakthrough of characteristics paralleling those of Borderline Personality Disorder. This clinical characterization is under consideration for inclusion in the next revision of the Diagnositic and Statistical Manual (DSM-V) as a formal, coded diagnosis.

Post-traumatic stress disorder - Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a term for certain psychological consequences of exposure to, or confrontation with, stressful experiences that the person experiences as highly traumatic. These experiences can involve actual or threatened death, serious physical injury, or a threat to physical and/or psychological integrity.

Adjustment disorder - In psychology, adjustment disorder refers to a psychological disturbance that lasts six months or less. Adjustment disorders are caused by specific sources of stress, such as severe personal crisis (divorce, death of loved one, recent abuse) or major unexpected negative events (tornado or fire destroys a person's home).

Pain disorder - Pain disorder is when a patient experiences chronic and constant pain in one or more areas, and is thought to be caused by psychological stress. The pain is often so severe that it disables the patient from proper functioning.
